PHOTOGRAPHY FAQ

What is your photography style?

Here at JCL Media, we offer a unique style of wedding photography that is deeply rooted in photojournalism while influenced by fine-art and fashion photography. We love using creative lighting, angles, and artistic post-production to give our clients work that is timeless.  Rather than just having one style, we let you decide which style you prefer for your photos. Whether that’s bright & airy or dark & dramatic, our photographers are well experienced to give you both styles.

Do you just shoot Weddings?

Although we specialize in Weddings, we do shoot portraits and other events such as: Corporate, Sweet 16s, Quinceaneras, and Private Parties. However, we only shoot a limited number of those events per year being that the majority of our bookings are weddings.

Do you do destination weddings?

Absolutely, even though we are based out of Dallas, Tx we serve clients all around the world. Our destination wedding photography packages include the cost of travel and reasonable accommodations. We love to travel so much that our destination rates are not that much higher than our standard rates because of our Frequent Flyer Miles benefit.

Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No, we do not. We eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery.

For example, because most receptions we shoot are in low light, we take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. We don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus, so we spend hours doing that on our end. In another example, candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day. Unfortunately, they can also yield some unflattering facial expressions or closed eyes.

With our expertise of processing thousands of images each year, we eliminate the ones that we feel are duplicates and only deliver the best.

If there is downtime between the ceremony and reception, does that count towards my hours?

If you choose a package that’s hourly based, the hours must be continous. The fact is, we’re never truly resting during the day. If there is any downtime, we do our best to make use of that time. This includes: setting up for the second venue, traveling to the second location, and getting detail shots before guest arrive. In many cases, we use that downtime to take you and your significant other out for a couple session or for family portraits.

If your budget allows, we suggest booking our Luxury packages. They include UNLIMITED coverage from the preparation to the last dance or walk out.
